We celebrated the 9th anniversary of Age-Friendly Englewood Village at the Greater Englewood Senior Empowerment Summit & Beyond on September 29th, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Kennedy-King College Great Hall. This event was aimed at seniors, caregivers, and individuals with disabilities, offering information and resources from resource coordinators covering healthcare to social activities. It emphasizes direct engagement over speeches, featuring activities like line dancing, raffles, and interaction with senior clowns. No registration was required, and lunch is provided, making it accessible to all. Debra Thompson encourages spreading the word to gather 350 seniors and individuals with disabilities, promoting empowerment and community engagement.
